NAH DRAN XVII
In October 2009, I was an artist-in-resident at ada Studio in Berlin. I was there for 3 weeks and was supposed to be working on “At the Sans Hotel” and in particular my character Anna Schmidt, the German Woman. But a strange thing happened. I began making an entirely new performance called “Exercises in Hopelessness” about Sophie, a French Community Centre programme co-ordinator. I performed a 30-35 minute development of this new work at a performance event called NAH DRAN over the weekend 24th/25th October. I think I have fallen in love with Berlin.
